The results of the Iowa caucuses can set the tone for the entire Presidential race, but few followers of the party nomination trail have ever had the chance to understand how the caucus really works. In February 1984, C-SPAN went to the 67th precinct Democratic caucus in downtown Des Moines and let the cameras roll live. Viewers were able not only to see the selection in progress but to hear the instructions to the attendees and thus understand how the selection works.
