Jerusalem= 147 miles from Beirut; 135 miles from Damascus, 43 miles from Amman, 550 miles from Baghdad. 1975-1990 Iraq bought $65 billion worth of conventional arms. Unsuccessful to obtain FOIA for cables between State Dept. and Glaspie and Wilson after meeting with Saddam.
