Extensive notes on front and back endpapers and table of contents page concerning the sixteen presidents examined in this work. The notes cover some biographical information on each president, as well as notes on the courageous acts they committed as president. Examples from the table of contents page include: "Emancipation Proclamation, January 1, 1863" under Abraham Lincoln, "Presidential news conference on Vietnam, July 25, 1965" under Lyndon Johnson, "Radio address from the White House, December 29, 1940" by Franklin Roosevelt, and "West Point Graduation, June 1, 2002" by George W. Bush. Annotations by Brian Lamb in the margins and underlining of pertinent phrases throughout the book.
