Booknotes & Science/Technology
Though originally envisioned as a program about history and the political process, in its fifteen year run, Booknotes covered a diverse range of subjects. Brian Lamb and his production team always sought out new topics to explore as these examples drawn from science and the role of inventors illustrate.
Edison: Inventing the Century
Author Neil Baldwin appeared on Booknotes March 19, 1995 to discuss his book Edison: Inventing the Century.
As was often the case, Brian Lamb elicited interesting information while interviewing authors. For example, from the Baldwin interview we learn that Thomas Edison's middle name, Alva, came from a steamship captain who helped his family when they were coming into Ohio from Canada.
