Notes on front and back endpapers concerning the authors' opinions on the effectiveness of the war on terror and the obstacles to winning the war on terror. Examples of notes include: "book - a manual for victory," "our institutions remain 'hunkered down in the vanished past' - unready," "CIA full of liberals," "UN does considerable harm," "If State Department disagrees with view of an official from other agency they will deny travel." Annotations by Brian Lamb in the margins and underlining of pertinent phrases throughout the book. Examples: "military a bureaucracy," "bin Laden's boasts were false," "nuclear, chemical, biological," "1000s slipping across the borders," and "we have fallen silent."
